Sierra's MC5720 EV-DO PCI Express Mini Card

As particular standards in networking technologies become more pervasive, one by one we see them bumped from
expansion cards to integrated features in laptops. (Remember when you actually had to buy an PCMCIA modem and ethernet
card?) Well, WiFi’s due to get the boot from the mPCI/PCI Express Mini Card slot to the motherboard any day now, so say
hello to Sierra’s MC5720, MC8755, and MC8765: an EV-DO and two HSDPA internal modules intended to get that laptop of
yours on 3G, stat. Of course, off the top of our heads we can’t rattle off too many laptops with PCI Express Mini yet,
but integrated 3G is a trend we can get very, very
used to.
