Sprint has a new option for its
GPS-enabled phones and, no, it’s not another
GPS-based employee tracker. Sprint will now offer the
TeleNav GPS software, which has
long been available to Nextel customers, on itsSanyo 5600, Sanyo 7400 and LG
535 handsets. The service, which will run $9.99 per month, includes voice prompts and onscreen directions. The offering
is the second GPS service announced for Sprint in less than a month. Earlier this month,
Garmin began offering a phone-based version of its
StreetPilot software to Sprint customers, also for $9.99 per month.
