Sorry, if you came here looking for actual numbers, there aren't any. However, Nokia did announce that Matsu****a Battery will be left holding the bag for all "direct costs" related to the
overheating Nokia-branded batteries produced by the Japanese manufacturer. Specifically, that includes "logistics costs, call center costs, and replacement battery costs" among others. Notably absent:
legal costs.
Update: A
statement issued by Matsu****a says that the recall will cost them between $86 and $172 million -- the low end of analyst predictions.
