Samsung i900 Omnia vs. HTC Touch Diamond... fight!

Filed under: Handsets, HTC, Samsung, Windows Mobile, GSM, EDGE, HSDPA

At this point, neither the HTC Touch Diamond nor the Samsung i900 Omnia need any introduction, but we're happy to announce that these two have stepped into the squared circle and faced off in an epic nine-page battle. Reviewers manhandled both phones for an extended time and broke down the UI, hardware, features and overall usability, so if that sounds like something you'd be interested in, cover your face and head on down to the read link. We're warning you though, it gets ugly.

[Thanks, Chavdar]

Re: Samsung i900 Omnia vs. HTC Touch Diamond... fight!

My input:

Touch Pro:
Pros
Vibrant VGA screen
Touchflo 3D app
Wifi
GPS (Tomtom doesn't require subscription or external gps device)
Small form factor-fits perfectly in hand

cons:
screen too small to type
the tilt sensor (accelerometer) not very responsive
no applilcation keys (I like to set one of them to switch betw open windows)
SLOW AS HELL-Because of the hi-res (VGA: 640x480) display

Omnia:
Pro's
HUGE SCREEN-good for typing
scroll sensor
according to a vid on youtube, the tilt sensor works VERY SMOOTHLY
Awesome camera with flash
Built in GPS ( so i hear)
Wifi
16GB-to die for
Extra buttons for apps/menus
Fast processor

cons:
low res screen (in a way its good because it will not cause your device to be slow)-feels CHEAP
no d-pad
probably expensive
Probably not for Sprint (DAMN IT!!!)
