#1 | | Member | okf or some reason I cna't listen to the midi's in real on player or windows media player. I have sound and everything but I won't play no matter what I try. does anyone know why this is happening I mean the midi box is checked in windows media player a d they will try to play the files but I cna't hear them at all. PLease help me I want to be able to listen to my files and then some how send them to my phnoe.

If it is, it could just be da volume is off on you pc! Go into your Volume control panel (double click da speaker in da task bar) and check if MIDI is up!

#4 | | Elf Knows IT | Rite,when you go into your volume control go to "options > properties" den go to the section labeled "Show the following volume controls" den tick MIDI, den go back to the volume control and it should be dere!
Let me know if this helps!
The control might not be labeled MIDI it could be sometin like SW Synth, if MIDI isnt dere post up wat u do have had ill tell ya wich one!

#5 | | Newbie | You are saying everything else plays fine right? MP3s. WAV, etc? If this is true then the post above has your most probably solution. You will also want to check your audio properties (Control Panel --> Sounds and Multimedia --> Second Tab --> Then look for Midi control and see if it is using a device. A second option on how to get to this is to go down to your task bar by the clock and find the little speaker looking thing, if it is there, right click on it -- the option that designates "Audio Properties")

This is for keyboards and oder midi hardware!

#7 | | Member | I'm using windows XP. As far as the midi playbackj goes it's says that the default devicce is something called MPU-410. I have no clue what that means or how i could change it I will try to play somethign again cause the SW synth souind is turned on and is up. Don't know what else I can do. | | |

#11 | | Elf Knows IT | The MPU-410 option is da sound cards MIDI out, so if nothins connected to it nothin will happen! i have a MIDI keyboard connected to mine so the MIDI plays tru da MPU-410 on mine!
I was askin about da OS coz on XP its "Microsoft GS Wavetable Sw Synth"
