Tattoos. Understand before engraving

this would be why Id never get anything put on me in a different language.
my brother has a tattoo with some chinese / janapese writing
I tease him all the time that is doesnt say what he thinks it says

you should submit a picture (then if it comes back right fake an email saying something awful )

I thought about getting a tat once, but chickened out.

Chinese characters do make good tattoos, in my opinion, but definitely get someone to translate and write them in calligraphy. It looks much better than the standard print characters (which is what most people do). It would be like getting some english words tattooed in Times Roman font, which does the job, but could look much cooler. For example, I got the character for water inked and had a friend, who is a translator, do the calligraphy for me. Here's the print and calligraphy character for comparison.

orrrr.... maybe take a lesson from the site and have several calligraphers do them.... ya wouldn't know if the first guy had really bad 'handwriting'!!

For all we know, the tatoo people could be writing "Dumbass" on our arms in Chinese. lmao

Good point! My friend did two full pages of the character, which ended up being 80 versions of the character. The first half were basically practice and the rest were her good ones and she and I agreed one was the best of the lot.
