Please Help Me

I honestly have no knowledge about cell phones except how to text and dial. I lost my phone recently and my dad is going to flip when he finds out. My friend has an old phone that looks exactly like mine. She said all I have to do is buy a SIM card and a battery for the phone and it should work just fine. Is she right? And does it matter that my contract is up for renewal in October??

A new battery and SIM and the phone will be exactly like your old one, except any files (images/tones) you had will be lost, and if you saved your contacts on the phone they will be gone to.

Its not a matter of just getting a new sim card, you will need a replacement clone sim card, You'll need to contact your service provider about this, usually this is free the first time round.

Mind you, many phones, esp. earlier models look very similar. Then again, you're more concerned about replacing your phone as opposed to getting exactly the same model. I'm going to echo Mark about the replacement SIM.
