Re: Do you answer numbers on your phone that you dont know?

    That's a good question....

You know going back to a time when calling plans were $29.00 with 30 minutes and roaming charges were a common apply within a close area, you watch your calls/minutes. As many years went by and calling plans expanded to millions of minutes, carry over minutes, no charge with same carrier customers, text plans, and roaming charges just about extinct, calling and answering screening is done by far and few people today.

With personal websites, facebook, my space, blogs, and for the simple reason we use our cell phones more like a house phone, we tend to accept calls or maybe or send them to voice mail because of overwhelming calls we receive. Another reason is today we live such on the go lives, who wants to have or rely on another phone (house), all that does is make for more steps and more time to communicate, I mean today we want one piece of technology that we can carry and do everything, camera, video camera, email, internet, text, gps, games, tv, and music, who wants to call home to retrieve messages only to make another call to the person of interest, I don’t, I want simplicity. I don’t want to go in three different directions to do something I can do standing still.

With the above options comes strange numbers at times, myself I sometimes send the call to voice mail or sometimes I answer, depends on what I’m doing, and where. With the minutes given in calling plans today I think people may not answer their calls, but only because they may not want to because they know who it is. Is anyone really watching minutes today?

No. I don't answer numbers I dont know.
If they want to talk to me, They can leave a message.
I'll return the call if I want to.

My cousin has a block on her phone so when I call, my number dosent show...
I got to leave a message so's she knows I'm callin.

How many people block their number from being seen when they call someone?

I use this method too, if i'm not sure, send to voice mail, and if its important i'll get back to them base on their message.

Re: Do you answer numbers on your phone that you dont know?

I block my outgoing Call Display by default. No one ever sees my number (yet I still get tele-spammed every once in a while).

As for answering calls from numbers I don't recognize, I generally don't unless I'm expecting a call from some place (like bank, government, etc). 9 times out of 10 it's "Hello this ***** calling from *****, we see your account is in good standing so we would like to present you with this limited time offer only available to select customers" and so forth.

Re: Do you answer numbers on your phone that you dont know?

The only time I do not answer the phone is if I am busy or I just don't feel like talking on the phone.

I answer any calls to my phone because it's "my" phone number and I shouldn't be afraid of unknown phone numbers.

It's also good to answer telemarketers and request to be taken off their list otherwise they will just call back and the list will be sold off to another company who will call you.

Rarely, if ever. I just let it go to voice mail. I donate to Animal Rights and Human Rights groups, and some of these groups have given my phone number out to third-party groups. So I'm not about to donate to the Republican national party (Which called the other day); so I just let them leave a message.
I'm not sure which one gave out my number, but it was most likely one of the smaller, one-time groups.
