That's what I think too. Cingular has never let me down. They have the best phones and good rate plans too!

yeah cingular's pretty good except that's kinda stupid to charge 4 dollars just to be able to send mms messages.

consumer reports rated them low for customer service which i agree with, i swear those people lie to you and make stuff up.

but they were the first people with GSM in the valley of cali and rollover and 7 to 7 off peak is awesome.

    Cingular rocks

What do you mean $4 for SMS? If you don't sign up for 250 messages for $2.99 then you get charged 10 cens for every message. So you don't have to pay no $4 for SMS.
The GSM covergae is great. The family talk plan is great. The rollover feature I think is the best, and no one else offers that. I have over 180 inutes in rollover. That's 3 hours of peak talk time.
And taking my Nokia 7210 to Europe and buying a $5 prepaid SIM and making local calls there for like $.25/min is awesome.
Try that with Sprint, Nextel, or Verizon !

sprint nextel and verizon all suck. they use CDMA and iDEN technology which suck.

and i said four dollars for mms, that's multi media messages, not sms (text messages).

Sorry amout the misunderstanding. You are right MMS is $4/month.

But I've got free WAP. Not the GPRS kind, but network switched data, the one that eats your minutes. It's great cause I use it during off peak, specially on weekends to get directions and tuff.

yeah i used to have circuit switched, but i switched before i got my nokia so i could download games and polyphonic ringtones etc. they told me i could still use dial up when i switched which was not true, so that really sucks cuz i thoroughly enjoyed the night and weekend internet time. now i barely use it....

    They all are bad

If you read the complaints about Cingular, uou will know, but then too, there are complaints with the others. If any company that is any good, they wouldn't have fine prints in their contracts. I am hoping the goverment takes a look at what is going on.

cingular all throughout california seems good to me. as long as i am within 10 miles of an interstate highway (which is basically everywhere within 200 miles of my home), i have reception. i must admit their customer service could be better, but just hope you don't have to deal with it. if you don't you should be fine. although i did call one time around 1 AM to change my rate plan. was on hold for about 10 seconds, lady helped me within 2 minutes, and i was done. but that was the ONLY pleasant experience.
The only reason i haven't had my phone surgically attached to my head is the difficulty i would have transfering ringtones/graphics to it in that position.

Overall I'm so so about Cingular. I think Verizon is much better. I can NEVER seem to hold a cell reception when I'm on the car driving. I'm in San Luis Obispo, CA and the reception kinda sucks. I might switch, not too sure yet.

The call reception isn't Cingular's fault, it's probably ur phone. Or maybe u live in a bad service area for them. Cingular just bought AT&T so that should be getting better soon.

you shouldn't go to verizon, cdma stinks. GSM all the way!!!
