Cell Phone Signal Strength

I currently have 2 T720's and moved to a new house. You can image my problem.. the house is down in a valley... and I have no signal inside my house. I guess thats a lie... I have a signal strength of 1 sometimes. Almost always if I make a call I drop the signal during a call.

I borrowed a friends Nokia 3595 and had a signal strength of 3 on it (out of 7).

I have got an external antenna and this seems to help out some but is a huge pain in the you know what. You have to plug it into the back of the phone. I tried the extendable antenna's but they did not help.

Anyone know how to increase the signal strength on the T720 phone as I really do like the phone and don't want to change but it looks like I will be forced to?

Also, I have been searching the internet with no luck, looking for a listing of signal strengths for various phones...anyone know of such a thing?

Nokias are known for having great a signal, i doubt you can compete.

I actually had to change my phone from samsung...had a very poor signal in my home....if I had a signal the call would be disconnected in no time....

then I tried the motorola v400....really nice phone BUT again, if it doesn't hold a signal its not all that great!

So, i ended up using a nokia 3595....great reception not one dropped call,,,,,I use it even in my basement....never get a complaint from the other end either....

So, once I was happy with the results, I did upgrade to the Nokia 6620 and have great reception with Cingular and I am very happy with their service and nokia phones!!!! I had verizon but they screwed my bill up so bad three months in a row.......I put them to rest......

the new nokia 3120 is supposed to have the best signal strength out of any of their phones to date... they have "tweaked" the antenna somehow
