Hello,
A while ago, my parents and I got a Cingular Family share plan. It came with the basic, free, C1300. Its ok, but the size is a bit small, and I hate having to open the phone every time to check the time, the mirror is just needless.
I asked a Cingular Employee if there was anyway to upgrade, and he replied that I'd have to wait two years or close to it for the contract to end.
This is a bummer...
What I'd like to know is, can I purchase an unlocked phone online, and then insert my current SIM card?
If so, I have a few questions. What if I purchase a new phone that has different features that my current one doesn't have (different ring tones, browser, etc). Would I still be able to use those features? And is there a certain type of phone I should look for?
Also, is it damaging to remove the sim card?
Thanks,
DM15

You can remove the sim and put it in to any phone that you desire, Just make sure that get a GSM phone from cingualr...Im not sure where you live but it would prob have to be a 1800/1900. Check your box and see...It will say. Then just go to ebay a type CIngular gsm phones, or what ever brand of phone that you want..

I am thinking about getting the nokia 6820 http://msn-cnet.com.com/Nokia_6820/4...tml?tag=glance
But this phone is for AT&T, will I be able to use it now that Cingular and At&t merged?
Are phones from Amazon unlocked, or would it work anyway because it is for Cingular/at&t?
Thanks,
Aldo
