Hi Everyone,
I don't mind cingular's service, as I recieve fairly good coverage at all times. My one big complaint about cingular is their really crappy phones. I've been tempted to switch to nextel because their phones are really durable, but have been hearing that their service is not as good. So I was thinking of possibly getting an i830, probably from ebay, but I'm not sure how to unlock it and if it would even work on the cingular network. I know I would not have the "Beep-Beep" feature when on cingular, but I could really care less about it.
I really want a cell phone that works. I just upgraded my cell phone (to a moto v180) one and half months ago and it already doesn't work. I can hear people, but people can't hear me, and there's a ton of static. I went to the store and they said I had to go through the warranty departmen. I've done this in the past with another phone and was unsatisfied with it, as the new phone they sent me did not work much better.
Any help would be extremely appreciated.
Sincerely,
Andrew Bond

If you really like the Moto i830 you'll definitely have to change your carrier service to Nextel, problem is that Nextel operates on the iden800 mode
while Cingular a GSM technology operates (depending on your location and type of phone) GSM/GPRS 850/900/1800/1900 Mhz networks.
myeb is time to start considering other carriers like Verizon or Sprint, they might give you more coverage and a phone that you'll be happy with, good luck.Last edited by Tony E!; 04-17-2005 at 06:23 PM.

That sucks!!! Do you know of any phones that are as sturdy or close to the sturdiness of the i830 that can be used on the cingular network?
Thanks sooo much!

Now keep in mind that Nextel's phones are geared towards construction type businesses so compare to Cingular you won't find domething as sturdy, now like i said before your options are to look at other carriers like Sprint, they carry a Nextel type phone like this one >Sanyo 7300
good luck with your search...~Tony E!
