Media Net, how fast does 1MB go?

I have been considering adding Cingulars media basic package to my plan, for those who don’t know for an additional $10 a month it gives you 200 text messages and 40 multimedia messages (which is plenty for me) plus 1MB of media net. This seems pretty small, I can see a MB going very quickly so I am not sure if it is worth it. Can someone who has the 1 MB of usage a mouth comment on how quickly it goes? Alternately I could do 5 MB a mouth for $10, which seems ok but then I don’t get text or multimedia messages, which I would not mind having.

you can get media works for $19.99! It gives you 1000 text, unlimted MMS and 5MB of media net. There is a chart somewhere on cingular.com that shows you some usage examples. I have yet to come close to using my 5mb and I use it a decent amount.

Well I could but an extra $20 is a lot for me, plus I would then be paying for services I will not be using. There is no way I would come close to using 1000 text messages, 200 is plenty and I would not be sending that many multimedia messages either. I think I will just wait, soon enough Cingular will probaly bump it up to 2 MBs in their basic package, because if I remeber when the package was first out it only gave you 500 Kbs.

Yea I never thought I would use 1000 sms messages either! I had 1800 last month! lol

the works package would only cost you $10 more a month, not $20. Basic is 9.99 and works is 19.99.

I now send even sms texts as mms with some sort of attachment since I get unlimted. Just remember even if you send something as a mms message, if it is under a certain size, they count it as an sms.


They just updated the basic to 1mb, so I wouldn't hold my breath for another increase anytime soon.
