Multimedia Messaging Problem

For almost 2 months now I have not been able to recieve MMS messages on my phone. I'm subscribed to the Media basic plan. I can send MMS messages with no problem, my phone just won't recieve them!!! I went to the local cingular store and they tried a different phone (same model, SE Z500A) and it still wouldn't work. They tried A new sim card... it still doesn't work!!! Every time I go to the store they tell me "we've been having problems with our internet the past couple of days", or "yeah, my phone does that once in a while to". This has been almost 2 months, so I know its not just a minor problem with the towers, internet or whatever or there would be hundreds of people packed into the store singing the same song. In other words, they don't know what the problem is. I've had the phone for about 5 months now so I can't just get A different model. I called customer service and I was told that they'd call me back when the tech people were available...lol. I had them send me a new phone because of this and it still won't recieve the messages. Like I said, sending them is no problem. It sends and recieves text messages without any problems also. Has anyone ever heard of this happening or have any idea what the heck would be causing this??? The only thing I haven't tried is putting my sim card into a different model phone. I'm starting to think that this problem may be model specific. Any info, suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like a setup problem with cingular... I doubt you can do much on your en to fix it.

The only thing you could do is call 611 from your phone (Customer Service) and maybe they can reset something in your phone for you. That's what they did for my internet. That would be you only hope as far as I know.

hey TstRight and shutyomouth, thanks for the replies. I'm just about at my wits end with cingular but thats the only carrier that I get decent reception with around here so...yeah. As far as a problem with the setup at cingular, they've checked and double checked their systems, but yeah it sounds like somthing isn't right over there. And I've called the tech support a couple times and both times they sent software updates to my phone and the rest of the procedural diagnostics. I'm really starting to wonder if i could receive mms messages on a diferent model phone. Why would mine be the only one that isn't working right? If I can get the guy at the store to try it then I will and if it works then its gotta be model specific, if not I may have to give scooby doo and the gang a call and see if they can figure out this mystery. Thanks again for your time guys.

Thats the oddest thing i have heard of involving a cell phone. I know older models cannot send MMS, but your problem is very unique. If you figure it out let me know what happened, and if its just your phone because i have cingular and ive never had MMS problems at all so when they say it might be the system they are just trying to hold you over.
