international cingular use

hi my friend is in canada with cingular but she registered for cingular int he united states. i also have registered for cingular in the united states. my question is this. can i still use the free cingular to cingular calling even if my friend is in canada?

no! if you call your friend in canada that's consider as international roaming.
he being charge for int. roaming but not charge to you here in the u.s.
his free minutes is gone while under int. roaming and everything will back to normal if the phone back to cingular network.

Actually if you were to call the person in Canada while you are in the US it's international "DIALING" not international Roaming. Cingular used to have a "North America" rate plan that covered Canada and Mexico but there was to much fraud with that so now you can get a bolt on feature to your rate plan called Cingular Canada and Cingular Mexico. It allows you to do much the same but at a cheaper cost.

there is no cingular service provider in canada.
here are the list of service provider in canada.
FIDO
MICROCELL
ROGERS
TELUS
BELL MOBILITY
ICE WIRELESS INC.
CELLULAR ONE
VIRGINMOBILE CANADA
so, if you are out of united state and cingular is borrowing network from this service provider that is consider as international roaming.

Read your response carefully. It says "If you call your friend in Canada". You state nothing about the call originating in Canada. If I am in the US on the Cingular network and call Canada I am not roaming, I am in the US calling Canada, INTERNATIONAL DIALING. If I am a US Cingular customer physically in Canada and I call someone in Canada then I am International Roaming.

that's what i said to call canada you just using your minute but his/her friend in canada which is under cingular network here in the u.s is using his/her int. roaming and he/she will be billed as as int. roaming the one who's in canada and under cingular network.
