Baldwin County Alabama, We got hit pretty hard at the gulf by Katrina and ever since we have been dropping calls or getting a lot of static. I was hoping by increaseing the signal we would have a clearer call and stop dropping So many, Also the radio feature has always had a poor signal

    Thanks

In an area where they may or may not have re-built/repaired cell towers that stopped working, there really is not much you can do to increase your reception, without spending a lot of money. If the cell phone can use an aftermarket replacement antenna, that might help some, but if the phone has an internal antenna, without some sort of signal booster for the car/home/place of work, there isn't much you can do to help your reception.

And from the sounds of it nmbr1ddy, there may be a lot of holes in the cellular coverage that weren't there before the storms. And until those holes are covered by new/replaced towers, the static and dropped calls will continue.

It's possible that some phones will have better reception than others, but that's going to vary a lot from place to place and phone types. From the way I understand it, the less overlap between cell towers the increased chance of dropped calls when the towers start handling more traffic then they normally would, atleast for the phones that don't have a good of reception as some others might have.
