If you don't want to change to a Cingular sim card then you'll need to get a unlocked RAZR.

doesn't it also depend on what type of att card he has? if it's an old 32k sim, it won't work in a razr (even an unlocked razr), right? i thought someone else on here was saying that this is the case.

I haven't came across that situation yet, so I'm not really sure if the 32k will work or not. You might need to do a little more research on it because the risk isn't worth taking on purchasing a RAZR full price.

To get a Cingular sim card they will migrate over to the Orange side of Cingular, so make sure you no which rate plan they will switch you to. They also should be able to give you a discount on a new phone. Give a call to CS.

I actually saw the sony w800 the other day and it's really nice! It's smaller than the w600 and it has a lot of the same features. I think its great if you want to be different. I see Razrs everywhere these days.

it's cool looking, but lacks the 850 band! so it might not be efficient in terms of connectivity.

If you want to keep using your ATT sim card you will need to get the Razr unlocked like it was previoulsy mentioned.

@ N1ckel, the 32k sim card will work with the Razr, but it may have a lag time finding towers for better reception.
