Ya, thanks for the long explaination, but i have a tri-band phone and it only has 900, 1800,1900 i believe. There is no 850, so technically the phone is of no use to me. It gets great service in places but nothing indoors, AT ALL.

That is correct Tony, we are in agreement. Cingular runs on dual band 850/1900. I believe that Echo was disputing that among other things. I'm in question about where the phone came from now. It couldn't be from Cingular, it would definately have the 850 band option. Is it even a U.S. phone? I'm really not familiar witht eh D500...

I think Motorola has more quality than Samsung. I always had Samsumg before but had a lot of problems.

Zender, there is a US and ASIAN version of this phone, JDxray got the Asian version which doesn't have the 850 MHz band.

Now I understand, Looking back through the posts, it was only listed as being a tri band phone, not the asian model of the phone. that's where all the questions and disputes came from. There are U.S. tri band phones that will have the 850/1800/1900 bands. A Tri Band phone is not the same thing I guess, depending on what part of the world you are from...

Ya i forgot to look at the Bands for the phone before i bought the phone, i guess next time that wont happen.... But i hate to just get rid of it, its s really nice phone. But i guess i am going to have to or just upgrade to the D600 which is quad band with 850 i checked, haha
