PTT data settings for cingular

Hello,
My brother recently purchased a new phone to use this feature with cingular, however he bought it off e-bay. While it is a supported model, it does not have the data settings in order to use the ptt feature. I was wondering if anyone had the information. Thank you in advance for your help.

Does he have the push to talk feature on his account? Does he have a push to talk signal on his phone? Let me know I will try to find those settings.

Yes he does. But it still says ptt unavailable. Thanks for the help.

has he tried asking a cingular customer service rep for help configuring the phone?

Hopefully all he needs is the settings from Cingular to get PTT working. If he's really unlucky he will need the phones software upgraded in some fashion to get it working.


A call to Cingular and getting to Tech Support, should get that taken care of.

PTT is an extra charge on top of his plan, does he have that activated?
