Hi Everyone,
I have a phone through Cingular(yearly contract) and recently had the sound go out on the phone. Needless to say I did not purchase the extended warranty on it, so they want to charge me $100+ for a new phone. Looking at Cingular "go" phones it appears that they are the same phones that Cingular offers to it's contract customers. Can I buy a Cingular go phone and place my sim card in it and have it work correctly (i.e. use it as my contract phone)? This seems like a cheap alternative. If anyone knows please let me know.
Thanks!
Andy

Yes, it will work. Just slip in your sim card and you should be good to go.

Absolutely, no problem at all doing this. As a matter of fact I have Cingular on contract and my wife has a gophone and I've done this before just to make sure that everything worked. And it did!

the only problem is that the go phones are a little bit towards the lower end of phone models. If you don't mind a no-frills phone or a V220, go for it...
