I've gotten different answers from 3 different Cingular stores. One said I need a full data plan (like my BB), one said I can use all the functions on the Treo with only Media Net and one said I can either one with the same results.
Treo on Cingular- do I need a full data plan?

Good luck. I think it really depends on how much you are going to use it. Because with the phone you can always log on and off of the internet and check your emails once in a while. I'm implying you don't need the unlimated

Re: Treo with data or just medianet?
I have a Treo and I got the same answers from different reps at the SAME Cingular store! All I want to do is get my POP3 e-mail - that is it. If I have web - fine - but I really do not need it. I just want the mobile pop3 email - and I am told I need to be on the unlmited data plan for $45.00 per month. If that is what I need...no problem. But I have had this thing for almost a year and I still am not sure if I am paying too much...! Others told me Media net is fine - because all I need is to have access to the internet - and Media net will give me that.
Anyone have any idea?

Technically, the Cingular policy is that all smartphones are supposed to be on the same data plans, ie. the Blackberry data plan for $50. However, they don't tell you that if you use MediaNet the smartphone will work exactly the same, at a reduced price. If you can, try to get onto MediaNet because it'll save you money, while allowing the same access.
