Quick question about phone "upgrading"

I've had a Nokia 7610 for almost a year now through cingular. The phone is on a 2 year agreement, so I can not "upgrade" it through cingular. If I buy a cingular-compatible phone from another store, and use my SIM card, will it work in the new phone?

Re: Quick question about phone "upgrading"

If the phone is branded to cing, yes, if not then it will have to be an unlocked phone. You'll know the answer as soon as you put in your sim, and cing pre=paid phones will work no problem
