Im in SE missouri. Any idea when cingular will roll out 3g in the smaller markets instead of the big city's. I was misled when i got a 3G aircard for my laptop. Rep said I would get 3G speeds 1.8 mbps, but 3g is not available in my area just edge. I feel ripped off.

I think in your area it will still be a while. I mean they still dont have it in Los angles yet. Plus they only have what.. Like three 3g models out yet?

Go and contact Cingular customer support. It gets annoying when you have reps BSing you about information they hardly know anything about. Usually when you get a rep that's ignorant about their work, they just agree with you so that they make you think that their miss/mr high IQ.

    Re: Cingular 3G ???

Here is an example of Reps and BS'ing.....
Buy a phone off Ebay or from wherever that is an unlocked/modded T-Mo phone or a Cingular Phone and tell the rep at the store you bought a new phone and need to update the info on your acct. They will tell you to just slide the SIM in the phone and it will work. And it will until you get no SMS or MEdia Net service. If you call customer service and tell them you got a new phone and need to give them the new model and IMEI info, they will tell you to hold a sec so they can get to the correct screen and then they will update the info. They will also tell you that you should get an SMS telling you to cycle the phone and if not to wait 10 minutes and then cycle the phone off/on.That is the diff between the store/agent reps and Cingular CS.It is so now,I just call CS directly and deal with it.As a note,I have a 2nd Razr through T-mobile.When I went in to get a prepay kit at the T-Mo store the other day,the clerk asked me if it was a T-mo phone.I told him no,but I got it from Cingular originally and it was ok.He then amazed me by asking if it was unlocked and I told him yes.He fixed me up rather than telling me the phone could not be used. Some reps know what is up,others are still blind.
