Getting Cingular phones on Tuesday, what to get?

So my parents and I are switching to Cingular phones on Tuesday. He was wondering what is a good phone to get? My dad looked at these phones and wanted to know which one is the better for him.

Nokia 6102i
Sony Wricsson Z525a
Samsung D407
Buy 1 get one free. LG Cg300.


Also, what makes a Razor phone so special? Is it worth getting? I need a phone for myself and have no budget pretty much. My friend has a razor and it seems its hard to hear him when he talks on it. Anyway, any suggestions are appreciated cause I don't have a clue what phone to get. I'd like a phone that can get good ringtones and maybe a camera? Again anything is an option for me.

i would get a nokia 6102i because it has the bluetooth feature and its very reliable and get good reception, easy user interface, my friend has one and is very happy with it.

The razr is special for its slim size, unfortunately everybody has one nowadays. But if you want a slim with packed features, sure get the razr, and try looking at the slvr too. If your on a low budget i say get a 6102i because it has a good camera and plays video too

With the choices you gave, I'd go for either the Z525a or the 6102i. I'd stay away from the LG's. Anyway, I'd probably pick the Nokia, but this might help you out...

i personally say don't get any free phone, there's a reason they are cheap enough for cingular to give them away for free. most people it seems who i take calls from at cingular with problems with their phone have them with the free phone they got. there's a reason why certain phones cost more, they're most likely better quality.

What phone do you think I should get. Again I am open to any phone that Cingualr offers. Razor looks nice, but I was talking to my friend last night who has one and I could barley hear him speak...didn't know if it was my phone or his.

Well what exactly are your needs in a phone? Since you said you don't have a budget, the: Samsung D807, Moto SLVR L7, or the LG CU500 might appeal to you more.

A camera phone, good ring tones, and something where people can hear me and I can hear them.

i have the slvr, i haven't had any problems with it yet. it's a great phone. just don't get a free phone, they are most often junky phones that are free for a reason. if you do get a free phone, please please get insurance.

If you want to use the phone for pictures and ringtones, the nokia 6102i only has 3MB of memory and that will not hold many pictures/ringtones.
My wife had that phone and after I loaded a few ringtones, it only had like 1MB left for pictures.

The SE z525a is what she has now, it has 18MB. And will hold much more.

I would suggest, if you want pictures, go with one that has at least a 1MP camera. Otherwise, they don't turn out very good.


I have the SE w600i, and it has 256MB of memory. It will hold a lot of ringtones, MP3's, and pictures.

However, If I had no budget, I would get the Samsung D807. It has 18MB built in, with a micro sd slot for external memory. And a 1.2MP camera (I think, may be better), and it is also an MP3 player.

I have the 6102 and I like it pretty well and it was in my low budget lol. Lg phones are crappy to me but if thats what floats ya boat then get one but I vote for the Nokia. I hope that helped!

Yeah, I still haven't gotten phones yet but I should be this tuesday hopefully. I think I am going with the Sony phone. Don't know what my parents are going with.

Also, what is wireless village? I noticed on some of the chats that some phones have that or aol yahoo ect.

definitely go with the nokia 6102i. nokia is the most reliable brand for signal strength and also usually fair well with battery life. i'd stray away from SE at all costs (with the w600 as an exception).

The v3 is so wanted for it's slim structure with adonized aluminum casing. it's surprising sturdy being it's made from a metal an df not plastic like most other phones. it's packed with features and pulls great reception. there's a reason this phone has been around for as long as it has.

samsung d807 is great, new lg cu500 rocks the house, any nokia pretty much is great..nokia is always known for THE BEST reception and fabulous battery life. stay away from the razr...most of the problems with phones at my store are with the razr, i would only recommend the razr to an enemy...
