I've posted a few noob questions here already about the CU500, and I apologize if I'm spamming about it, but the conversations over the last couple weeks has really shown me what I need and don't need and so it has really helped me out. Thanks for the responses!

But after reading a lot of posts, I now am more uncertain about what to buy. I had decided on the CU500 because I liked the look/feel, the camera looks good, the sound most say is exceptional, etc. However, I don't think I'm really going to be using the 3G network much, if at all. I mean, I'm not really going to even do emails, most of the time I'll do that from home. Video streaming is cool, but I think I would use it a couple times and be bored. So the whole broadband issue is kind of silly to be basing a phone on for my use.

What I really want, is a great clamshell/flip phone (that's my highest priority, I love the feel when talking), that gives exceptional MP3 capability, stereo blue-tooth output, excellant to exceptional camera functions, has a large sharp viewing screen, and has good reception. That's what I want to use my phone for. I would love voice dialing (which the CU500 doesn't have), and at least handle a 1 gig external memory card. Plus good battery usage would be great, but that would be lower on the list. As long as it lasts me all day, I don't care.

It almost sounds like the upcoming MOTORAZR V3maxx is the ultimate phone for me, but I can't wait. And who knows what it will really be like when it comes out. So any suggestions? I am currently with Cingular and love the rollover minutes, so I'd rather stay there, but am willing to switch (contract is done). All thoughts are appreciated.

I've never had any reason to switch from Cingular, but that's my opinion. You might want to check out the RAZR V3i, or perhaps the Sony Ericsson W300i.

This might help out. You can edit the search if need be

Thanks for the response. I too, have never had a reason to switch from Cingular.

The RAZR looks good, but people seem to complain about the camera being only ok. Also there are some comments that the MP3 volume is only ok.

The W300i seems nice, but only has a VGA camera which kind of ruins it for me. I'd really like at least a 1+ megapixel.

Boy am I picky! The worst part of this is I realize that in just a couple months, all the options I want today will be standard on all phones. Oh well.

i'd also add if you are thinking about switching services you should get yourself and unlocked phone because you can use that with both cingular and t-mobile so u can switch btwn services to your heart content and keept the same phone if you want to go that way

I would say hang in there and wait. The rollover and service makes cingular one of the best service providers out there. Only downside they have always seemed to be a little behind on the cool new phones and features.

If you absolutly cant wait then go with the razr v3i. Sure you lose a little on the pic quality but overall arent you wanting a good phone with good service.
