I want to know if it's possible to buy a Cingular prepaid phone and put the sim card from my current phone in it (not a prepaid phone). I have a Cingular contract that was grandfathered in, and don't want to upgrade my plan (and pay a ton more money) to get new phones, and also don't want to pay $250+ for a new phone. Thanks!

make sure the phone is unlocked at it supports 850 and 1900 Mhz bands. If those are met, youre good to go

But since you want to put a Cingular SIM into a cingular phone, it doesn't even need to be unlocked.

Any GO PHONE or PAY AS YOU GO phone will work with your sim card
