Looking for a cingular smartphone

I have a few friends on Cingular and they have liked it and suggested I try them out. (my verizon contact is about to run out) I would like to get rid of my pocket pc and only use my phone. The Cingular 2125 looks good but I have a few questions about which smart phones do what. I only need a few features of the smart phones but they are important (no lame calender on a flip phone will do).

Calender: I like the ability to sync my PDA with my computer. How well does this work with smartphones? Does Outlook work with all/any of them?

Tasks: I like to have my Pocket PC allow me to create a To-Do list that will remind me every day of what I need to do. Can you set a time of day for a task and have it beep at you as a reminder?

Reminders/alarms: This is important. I have many things to do everyday but can't keep track of them. Is the reminder/alarm clock easy to use and allow for multiple alarms every day? What about weekly/daily alarms?

other things such as email and web browsing are not necissary but I guess just a bounus as is doesn't seem there are phones that have the extensive organization features of a PDA without also having web and email.

So what phones do people suggest?

Re: Looking for a cingular smartphone

Windows smart phones are good especially with syncing with Outlook. However, I prefer Symbian over Windows Mobile. The UI is simpler when using it as an organizer for multiple tasks. You can try out Nokia 6682 or the N80 coming out later. But if you want the keyboard, go for the 9300i. If you want to go the unlocked route, go for the any of N Series phones for Nokia, especially the N73. If price is not an issue for you, try out the N93. However, it doesn't have 850Mhz, so that might be an issue for you.
