I'm a long time Cingular user. I currently have a Family plan with 4 phones, 3 of which are no longer under contract. I am considering the BlackBerry 713c as I need a PDA. I have a couple questions I'm hoping can be answered here.

    1. Most importantly what's the consensus on this phone? It will be my first PDA phone and I don;t want to regret going away from my traditional flip phones which have always been Motos.

    2. The 7130c can be had for free on Amazon (and other places I'm sure) with a contract. Is there a way for me to get this deal by just adding it to my current plan i.e. I'd be happy to sign another 2 year and add it to my family plan but can this be done?

Thanks, I look forward to the forum here.

I am also a longtime member of Cingular...
I have researched this cellphone and it is my choice too...
CNET gives it a 83% rating...
At Cingular, you can buy it for $199.99 w/a 2 year contract...
eBay has them for around $175.00 and, I think, you can just put in your SIMM Card and start using it or you can take it to a Cingular Store to activate and register it w/o a long term plan?
    GOOD LUCK !!!

I enjoy the Blackberry 8700c. Awesome screen and features!!

On the flip side.... (here's some tips about owning a "Bar style phone")

If you have owned flip phones for a long time it is going to be somewhat of a challenge to get used to the exposed buttons.. Make sure you can lock the keypad and get into the habit of doing it frequently. I have always had flip phones up untill i had my SLVR L7. It was an awesome phone even tho you lock the keys you can still press 9 (which is emergency) then the call button.. Now it might seem wierd that this has happened but with my line of work there's a ton of stuff in my pockets and low and behold it has happened to me..

With the blackberry I got it came with a belt holster. I would suggest using this....

Rjo72223 Mentioned that you can hit up ebay for one roughly $175.00 maybe that is the way to go. Make sure its brand new when you get it tho its hard because people tend to hide the wonderful word "Refurbished".

    take care,
