I have a motorola VGA 4x zoom, with a cingular 2 yr. plan. it's been over a year, and i hardly ever use the phone except when out, which isn't much as i'm on disability. however, when i use the phone, in house or out, it hardly ever has more than 3 bars, if that, alot of the time only 1 or 2, i live in a medium size city in mid-michigan and cingular assures me that coverage is available. i want to change to a different carrier and phone, but cingular is insisting that i would have to pay 150 dollar cancellation fee. is this legal?? I thought that there were laws passed that they couldn't do that. please email me if you have any info.

    greatly appreciated,

    moshca3

The cancellation fee is standard practice among the cell phone industry,
to protect them selves from customers bailing for no good reason.
One bar is enough for a conversstion, so what is your problem???

unfortunatley its totally legal. its on the contract that you signed when you 1st opended the account. your best bet is just to wait it out till your contract is up.

the reason you have bad reception is probably because you do not have a quad band phone...
