Adding my 2 cents on ETF. I too think this is yet another way to screw the working guy out of his hard earned money. I have no other service that requires you to sign a 1-2 year contract. And with the exception of the cable company, no one else bills you for services you haven't yet used. Granted I did get a good deal on the price of my crackberry, but I still purchased the phone. At the time of that purchase I had no idea it would require both a phone and data plan to use it fully; and the data plan is as much as my cable internet connection. My bad for not researching before I signed on the dotted line.
My experience with Cingular has not been good; every time I turn around there is yet another gotcha and you have little choice because of the excessivly high ETFs. I'm thinking those ETF's are the way the cell phone companies make sure you are paying for the phone that they said was free should you leave before they have recouped the cost of the phone though those extra charges that appear on the bill.
