I'm on a family plan, and at first we had text messaging included & I was able to text message just fine. We noticed we weren't really using it that much though, so we decided to take it off, and pay per text messages since it would most likely be a lot cheaper. Ever since we took it off, I haven't been able to text at all. I didn't call Cingular about this yet though. Is it not possible to text without it included with your plan?

I've had the same problem. They can disable the texting feature completely. First, reboot the phone, if that doesn't work, call a tech and they will get you working.
