I just bought an unlocked SLVR and my service is Cingular. I tried to get on the internet with it and send text messages but it won't let me. a warning box saying "browser setup is incomplete" when i try to get on the net. whats is the setting i need to get on the net? and is this why i can't send messages? it keeps saying "message unable to send". i love the phone but i need these to work.

Go to the Cingular website, and select Phone and Device support, then select the motorola razr. The tutorial will tell you what to enter, and where to enter it.
It is by far the best way to go. Also to get on the internet you will need a data plan.

Follow the step by step instructions that are in the above link to set up your SLVR on Cingular's network.
If you experience any problems you can call Cingular's tech support directly at #1-888-240-6804 and they will be able to assist you further.

Hi!

I'm also a newbie to the forum. I too have an unlocked SLVR L7 phone that I purchased a while back and have been using successfully. I've tried to get information on how to configure my phone, even going on the the Cingular website and following the steps. The problem is that my phone is not configured the way a Cingular phone would be, so I don't have the menu and submenus that are shown in those tutorials. I have tried to input data into it, such as setting SMS settings, but I cannot complete the process. Any help would be appreciated.

Call Cingular's tech support number that I listed above and they will walk you through the process.

Thanks MobilePrincess. I've decided I don't want to configure it or download any firmware onto it, as I am planning on going to Iraq soon and will be using a local SIM chip there. Thanks for the help, though.
