Post-paid to prepaid sims compatible?

Ok. I'm new so please don't flame me. I read that Post-paid sims can work in prepaid phones, correct? But is it compatible the other way around? I have an old nokia 6682 that I want to use, with a GoPhone sim. My question is basically will it work?
