Re: Office 2007
I hate the new menus on 07. I installed it all and then put 03 back on.

Re: Office 2007
I have been using Office 2003 for some time now. It does everything I need, and then some. I do have a copy of 2007, but will wait to install it when I build my next PC. BTW, for those of you who can't afford MS Office, there is a great free alternative: OpenOffice.org. Check it out here:

Re: Office 2007
I bought a book on Office 2007 to swot up before starting a new job. I don't know which version of Office they use though. The book starts off by saying something like "the first thing you'll notice is that Office 2007 is radically different from previous versions". If you are familiar with it - should I check which version they have where I'm going to work and change the book if it's a pre- 07 version?

Re: Office 2007
Not a problem. I have 2007 and works great. And I can save files in 1997-2003 format so others can open them. You can always go newer (no problem), its going back that can be a problem.

Re: Office 2007
I too use 2003 although I have 2007 Office...
I just hate 2007 because of the menus, I just do not like it. and the bugging thing is everytime one saves something bear in mind that office 2003 users cannot open it therefore it has to be saved under 2003 version... quite annoying in some cases..
I would therefore recommend OpenOffice it integrates quite well with office files..

Re: Office 2007
Office 2003 here too, simply hate what they did to the menus. Open office is just too crippled bacause of its java roots, too big of a memory hog for my old system.

Re: Office 2007
Office 2003 Is still arguably the standard office for the business industry. 07 isn't really a substantial upgrade to 03; So why would they upgrade to 07 if it does pretty much the same thing as the version they currently have?
The bottom line is, office 07 isn't worth a purchase.
