Re: Windows 7 Ultimate and loving it!
Win7; Trouble installing programs
Vista and Win7 users, you must Run as administrator
Rght click on the shortcut of XXX.exe and select Properties.
In the Properties window, go to the compatibility tab.
Check the option that says Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP (Service pack 3)
Check the option that says Run this program as an administrator and click on OK.Last edited by camstuf; 11-21-2011 at 03:15 PM.

Re: Windows 7 Ultimate and loving it!
Yeah well, I loved it until yesterday and my RC installs started rebooting (no scratch that) resetting every two hours. No nice shutdown and no chance to save anything you're working on. Boo, Micro$haft!

Re: Windows 7 Ultimate and loving it!
Windows 7 Genuine issues
To date, there is only one update that can mess up your Win7 loader or pirated license and that is
"KB91033 Windows Activation Technologies" right click and hide, do not install it.
FYI, if you are not sure if your copy is genuine, turn off Windows Updates.Last edited by camstuf; 03-05-2010 at 05:19 PM.

Re: Windows 7 Ultimate and loving it!
It's been right there at Microsoft Website that Win 7 RC will reboot starting March or April. I don't think it's Microsoft's fault that people don't read. And besides Win 7 RC is free (for almost a year) then it will start rebooting every 2 hours because you need to decide whether you will purchase it or uninstall it in your system.

Re: Windows 7 Ultimate and loving it!
Does Windows 7 bring some improvements about viruses? I had a virus on XP which bugged me for some time, no way to get rid of it. But I don't notice anything on Windows 7. I must have got it because I use same hard drives and usb sticks. Does it mean that it just doesn't display a notification about the virus or this virus is not working on my system? When I take a usb stick to my dad's house, AVG displays a notification that there is a virus, but when I take the very same stick to my puter, I don't get any message. I installed the Norton IS 2011 Beta. This virus is some autorun.inf which I don't know how to eliminate. So, I don't know if this virus can't activate on Windows 7 or it's just a coincidence.

Re: Windows 7 Ultimate and loving it!
I've never used Vista, but also, I hardly found someone who likes it. I've never bothered to leave XP for Vista, but Windows 7 is another story. I like it.
