I am the other way around. Unless it is a program incompatibility, I use 7

Re: Even after 7 i still prefer xp

I use Windows 7 at home and XP at work. Basically no difference, but I prefer Windows 7. I think it is a step forward (or I am just sick of XP after all these years...) I sometimes have some problems with old video games and old programs, but, honestly, why use old programs? New ones work on 7 very well. Even game emulators work. Flawlessly.

I think people get the wrong impression about Windows 7. If you have enough memory and a good enough processor then Windows 7 is by far the most user friendly. XP is probly more stable then 7 but its out dated lol. You can do so much more with 7, for instance you can stream live tv, networking is better with a Homegroup and much more.

Believe it or not, Win 7 runs better and smoother on my 1.6 Ghz, 1Mb RAM dell inspiron than XP did. I also have it on a 2.6GHz 4MB Ram machine and the 65 bit version flies.

Re: Even after 7 i still prefer xp

What most people don't realize is that most of the changes to Vista/7 are under-the-hood. Just because it appears to run the same, doesn't mean it does run the same. Alongside being more advanced, Windows 7 is by far a more stable piece of software than XP will ever hope to be, and it's also MUCH more secure.

And honestly, the same could be said for Vista, at this point...most of the differences between Vista and 7 are in the UI. No point in upgrading now that the service packs and platform update are out.

You're absolutely right, even I prefer XP but unfortunately I have to buy, with great reluctance, windows 7 to use it with some graphics and video editing programs!

but I refer xpiano a lifetime!

Re: Even after 7 i still prefer xp

    people prefer windows xp
because old computers/low range computers run faster on xp than windows 7/vista.

compatibility issue- Its true that you can run old application in windows7 but you CANT use old Driver in windows 7/Vista which is a problem if your using old hardware.

Windows 7 on the other hand
supports direct x 10 and 11(if ur into gaming ), can utilize more than 4gig of RAM. has more fancy gui and user-friendly interface
