I was looking into data encryption, since I got a new iphone, and now am using my laptop to sync info like contacts and email addys, and passwords, etc... I am scared top death that I will lose my laptop it, or it could get stolen, and all of my personal info would be compromised. Thuis would be bad, as I have high profile clients, etc... I want encryption so that if that does happen they can’t get my data, or make it difficult so they will just simply reformat the drives – kind paranoid about that.

So I found this review in PC Mag about Zonealarm’s Datalock data encryption program:

    ZoneAlarm DataLock Review & Rating | PCMag.com

    The author wrote:

“It certainly does the job it was designed for, and its makers have considered just about every possible eventuality to ensure that you don't lock yourself out of the encrypted data.”

    Well, I found a 60 day trial:

ZoneAlarm by Check Point - Award winning PC Protection, Antivirus, Firewall, Anti-Spyware, Identity Protection, and much more.

It is always good to have a trial, but with data encryption, how do I ‘try it’?

PC Mag says it works, but is there something I can do to ‘test’ it myself?

How can I tell if it is really working?
