iTunes De-Authorize/Authorize Tip

If you find yourself like i did with a number of computers and itunes programs installed, you'll find you've reached the limit of 5 Authorize iTunes computers under your account. This happens when you loose track with new computers/laptops over the years and go to set-up iTunes (Authorize) on your brand new device.

I've tried to back tracking and de-authorize accounts starting with my old Windows Gateway computer but to no avail, i still showed 5 authorized computers.

The easiest way i found... DE-AUTHORIZE ALL computers, then start over and AUTHORIZE the ones you want.

*** Your device and OS/Windows system may vary the procedure below, MAKE-SURE you check your system, and if your not sure of your choices DO-NOT attempt until you check with a knowledgeable/Tech individual.

*** I Don't want to be responsible for any problem you may encounter, i personally found the steps below very easy and painless...


Click iTunes Store in menu on the left side of iTunes.
signed in to the STORE, click the Account button, then enter your account name and password.

Click Account button again (your ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All.

Once you have done this, you will have to go back and authorize all the computers that you wish to use with your iTunes account.

IMPORTANT******
Also please note, you may only use this feature once per year.

The Deauthorize All button... will not appear... if you have fewer than 5 authorized computers, or if you have already used this option within the last 12 months.
