CES is about to open its doors to the public tomorrow but Nvidia has just revealed their latest mobile processor ahead of time, during its own press conference in Las Vegas. The Nvidia Tegra 4 processor will soon be found under the hood of future-to-be-released smartphones, tablets, infotainment systems, gaming devices and more, so let's take a look at what we can expect from it.

The Tegra 4 CPU is based on ARM's Cortex-A15 cores and according to Nvidia, it's supposed to be the fastest mobile processor up to date. In terms of browsing speeds this brand new chip is said to be 2.6 times faster than the previous Tegra 3 CPU and it also boasts six times the GPU power, featuring up to 72 GeForce GPU cores for extreme gaming performance.

Furthermore the Tegra 4 CPU comes hand in hand with an optional 4G LTE chipset: the new Icera i500 which is 40 percent the size of the ongoing modems while boasting four times the power of the chip inside the Tegra 3 CPU.

During the press conference the manufacturer has showcased the browsing capabilities of their Tegra 4 and compared it with the Google Nexus 10, the fastest Android tablet money can buy at this point in time. The results are pretty amazing and the Tegra 4 CPU managed to load 25 unique webpages in 27 seconds, almost half the time it took for the Exynos 5 chip powering the Nexus 10 to perform the task (50 seconds).

In addition to that, Nvidia claims that the Tegra 4 processor is even faster when compared with the iPad 4, the Kindle Fire HD or the DROID DNA, and in terms of HDR photography it's even faster than the iPhone 5. How fast? Well, Apple flagship smartphone takes about two seconds to process, whereas the Tegra 4 chip finishes the job in 0.2 seconds.

All in all, the latest SoC from Nvidia looks very promising and we're eager to see it in action. Check out the YouTube link below in order to see the browsing speeds demonstration and enjoy.
