Following the Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE at Rogers, both the HTC Raider and the Evo 3D have recently received the official Ice Cream Sandwich update over-the-air.

In case you're owning one of these two handsets, or both, make sure you check for updates regularly and if you don't get a notification remember that this is an OTA release so it might take some time for Android 4 to reach every handset out there. Once you get the notification, the updating process should take only a few minutes, after which you'll be able to benefit from the great features offered by ICS.

On a side note, Sprint's HTC EVO 3D appears to be still far away from getting the update, and despite the fact that Virgin Mobile launched the Evo V 4G with ICS out of the box, and that Android 4 has already been launched on the Evo 3D in Europe, Sprint sure seems to take its time with this release. Let's hope they'll pick up the pace and roll-out Android 4 on their variant sooner rather than later.

Sprint RELEASE THE 3D ICS OTA UPDATE YOU HAVE BEEN SITTING ON! How is it that the VM 3D already has ICS it but Sprint customers do not? Is it just greed? You know people want to be running the latest and greatest so why not make them buy a new phone to do so. You just want to sell a bunch of new LTE (Sprint Network Vision) phones w/ICS to poor saps who don't even know there is practically NO LTE network infrastructure in place! And I almost forgot they get the privilege of paying an extra $10.00 a month for the use of the practically non-existent network. In the mean time you have customers that have been with you for many years getting ready to jump ship for business practices like this. Just go to any Android forum and read some of the posts regarding Sprints EVO 3D & waiting for the ICS OTA. Your really ticking off your customers and from what I can tell you can ill-afford losing yet more of your customer base. Release the update already, I know you have it! Don't ask how but I do. I know this will probably never get read by any Sprint employee with any clout but at least I got to vent to my fellow frustrated 3D owners. Now excuse me while I go stand by the railing of this ship. Do the right thing Sprint, push the EVO 3D ICS OTA! Send an email to (dan at sprint dot com) let them know how you feel about the lack of support for your EVO 3D! Make it easy if you have replied to this thread just copy & paste your post into your email and include a link to this thread. Even if you have not and don't wish to post in the thread send an email anyway! Suggested subject line: "Do the right thing Sprint, push the EVO 3D ICS OTA!" or whatever you want just make sure you let them know you want ICS on you EVO 3D! NOW!

It's funny how some providers release updates, while some don't. It sounds like Sprint somehow determined that it would cost more than it's worth to update these phones. They choose to focus on new products rather then supporting the old ones.
