Despite the fact that it's not a high-end device, the Nokia Lumia 900 is one of the most successful smartphones launched this year, reason why both Nokia and Microsoft are planning on keeping the Lumia 900 up to date and interesting for everyone looking for a Windows Phone.
With the Windows Phone 8 OS being still far away from being ready, Nokia has recently announced via their US Twitter page that they're working alongside Microsoft in order to bring a new software update for the Lumia 900, before the Windows Phone 8 OS hits the market.
That being said, according to their announcement Windows Phone 7.8 will roll out on the Lumia 900 "in the coming weeks", so we should expect the new OS to be available by the end of this summer in the worst case scenario, but we hope that July will be the month.
As for what the update itself brings to the table, Microsoft and the Finnish manufacturer have not been keen on revealing more than the fact that it will contain some of the features that will be found in the highly anticipated Windows Phone 8.
