Despite the competition between the Android and iOS platforms, it's no denial that both Google and Apple have collaborated to a certain extend before, and as proof of that we have Google Maps for iOS.

For some time now, it's been rumored that Google Now might also end up on Apple devices, and this particular rumor was making the rounds on the web even before Google Maps has popped-up on the Apple Store.

Nevertheless, as far as Google Now goes, we still don't have any concrete information as to whether or not it will make it to iOS, but during a Google Bit Tent Summit in India, Google's Eric Schmidt has been asked quite specifically whether or not the aforementioned application will make it to the iPhone, and Schmidt's answer has been rather surprising.

In a nutshell, Schmidt's response was: "you'll need to discuss that with Apple", mainly because "Apple has a policy of approving or disapproving apps that are submitted into its store, and some of them they approve and some of them they don't".

Clearly, these statements (especially the part with discussing with Apple) imply that Google has already submitted Google Now to the Apple Store, but the company headquartered in Cupertino hasn't really done anything about it thus far.

However, as positive as that may sound, Apple has quickly replied to these statements and denied that Google has ever submitted any Google Now application.

Clearly, one of these companies is not revealing the whole story and we're wondering which one. We're hoping that Apple is beating around the bush, mainly because we'd like to see Google Now on iOS, but we'll have to wait and see how the story develops.

How about you? Would you be interested in getting Google Now on your iPhone or iPad?
