Recently we've reported that Samsung has announced the arrival of Android 4.1.2 on the Galaxy Note 2 in Canada, and fortunately it seems that everything went according to plan and the update in question has hit the waves as intended.

In other words, if you're the proud owner of a SG Note 2 in Canada and you're a Telus, Bell, Rogers or SaskTel customer then you should now be able to download the update over-the-air, or through KIES software.

The changelog includes a handful of new features such as Multi Window, which is pretty much the highlight of this particular release, but there are a few other goodies as well including a new Group Cast application, a smoother internet browser, the ability to disable the brightness slider in the notification panel, new notification toggles, a customizable notification panel and a new Ink effect on the Lockscreen that you can take a sneak peek at in the video below (courtesy of Sam Mobile). Lastly, the status bar has also been slightly altered and its color has been changed from grey to black.

The over-the-air release weighs roughly 230 MB and in case you haven't received the update notification just yet, then head down to Menu > Settings > About device > Software update and hit that Update button.

Unfortunately Mobilicity, WIND and Videotron are not giving signs of releasing the update as well, but since the roll-out just started it should take too long for the rest of the carriers to release Android 4.1.2 on their Galaxy Note 2 as well.
