Although the release date of the Samsung Galaxy S4 is not yet set in stone, we're inevitably getting closer and closer to the alleged Unpacked event that will focus on fully unveiling this particular sought-after device. As such, the South Korean press has recently reported a few interesting bits of information concerning the Galaxy S4, specifically the design philosophy behind the device as well as the expected release date.

The South Korean newspaper DDaily has recently made a few claims regarding the SGS4, mainly the fact that in terms of design the gadget in question will not stray too much from its Galaxy S3 roots. In other words, the same "human-centric" and "organic" design philosophy behind the Galaxy S3 has been used in shaping up the Galaxy S4 as well. Furthermore, allegedly the Korean smartphone manufacturer has considered the possibility of changing its navigational button setup, but in the end Samsung has decided to stick to the same formula of one physical Home button and two capacitive keys for "back" and "menu".

Furthermore, DDaily has also reported that the rumors concerning the idea that the SGS4 will feature a Wacom-based S-Pen are false. The Galaxy S4 will indeed feature a 4.99 / 5-inch display featuring a resolution of 1920 x 1080, but the gadget will not arrive with an S-Pen in the same manner the Note 2 does. However, on the other side of the coin DDaily has mentioned that the device will offer "contactless" gesture support, and although the newspaper hasn't really offered additional details on what this means, a wild guess would be that the SGS4 could deliver technology similar to "float touch" on the Sony Xperia Sola.

As far as the release date of the device goes, the Korean press claims that the upcoming Samsung flagship should be unveiled in mid-March, after which the device could go on sale later in that month or within the early-April time frame. This particular release timeslot has been rumored before, so the possibility that the Galaxy S4 could be released next month becomes more and more tangible. Besides, an earlier rather than later release might be a better choice for Samsung considering the fact that HTC, LG and Sony are also supposedly planning on releasing their upcoming flagship phones after the Mobile World Congress closes its doors to the public. If Samsung pulls this off, the Galaxy S4 might pose an even bigger threat for the competition.

I guess we'll have to wait and see how the story develops further.
