As probably mentioned on numerous occasions before, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is without shadow of a doubt one of the most anticipated smartphones of year 2013, right up there with the HTC One. Nonetheless, the reasons why these two devices are under the spotlight so often differ slightly from one gadget to another. While the HTC One is gaining attention simply because it looks like a fresh and very promising new beginning that might fix the company's financial issues, the SGS4 is the fourth big iteration in a pretty lengthy series of flagship smartphones from Samsung.

I guess it's safe to assume that no Galaxy S flagship smartphone has been a disappointment, and with each new model, the Korean manufacturer has managed to surprise and impress us. That being said, everyone has high expectations in regards to what the SGS4 will offer and so far, at least the hardware specs sound pretty impressive.

I'm fairly sure that you've all encountered bits of information regarding the expected hardware that might end up powering the Galaxy S4, but more recently most of these speculations have been somewhat confirmed.

To be more precise, a mysterious Galaxy S4 owner (or rather tester) has performed an Antutu Benchmark with the device in question, and the results as well as the specifications of the device have been leaked on the respective benchmark website.

That being said, according to these benchmark results the Galaxy S4 indeed features the Exynos Octa 5410 processor featuring 8-cores and a frequency of 1.8 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, a 4.99 inch display with a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080, a PowerVR SGX 544MP graphics processing unit, a 13 MP camera on the back and Android 4.2 out of the box.

In addition to that, the device that ran the Antutu test also seems to support GSM, WCDMA and LTE network connectivity, which means that the Galaxy S4 might be a world phone. In other words, chances are that the upcoming Samsung flagship will be the delivered in the form of only one variant, regardless of the region, which is definitely a good thing.

On a not-so-related matter, in terms of design the handset is said to retain its hardware "home" button configuration, and according to certain rumors, the handset will also be built from similar plastic material as its predecessor, which doesn't come as a huge surprise.

The Galaxy S4 is expected to be unveiled on March 14 in New York City during an "Unpacked" event, so the thick layer of mystery surrounding the handset will be dissipated soon. Hopefully the SGS4 will be able to live up to its name.
