It looks as if the rumor holds true for the
Sony Xperia P smartphone for Australia. It has been officially confirmed by Sony, that Australia will get the Sony Xperia P device and will be carried through Telstra. For plans of only $49 a month, Australia customers can get the device for free. The Sony Xperia P runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, with an update to Android 4.0 ICS in July.
If you are wanting an unlocked Sony Xperia P, expect to pay almost $450 for it through Sony Centre and Dick Smith's stores.
On another note, if you are looking for a cheaper Sony smartphone, the
Xperia U will cost you $299 for an unlocked device while $15 monthly plans will get you the Xperia U for free, available at Crazy Johns.
