What kind of paint did you use to do that with, is it like a spray can that you can purchase anywhere?

    Re: Chameleon Sidekick

A hundred thousand years ago when black & white Gameboys roamed the earth, I painted mine with some kind of paint the guy at the hobby store told me would not rub off, and it did. I kept getting gold hands from the gameboy.

I'm not saying this will happen to you, but be careful what paint you use!

    Re: Chameleon Sidekick

The paint I used is made by Dupli Color and its called Mirage. It comes in a 3 can kit which you can buy at most auto part stores such as Auto ZOne, Pep Boys, Kragen etc. I have used it alot of times before and havent had any problem with it rubbing off. The key is to use the Adhesion Promoter. This makes the paint bond better to the plastic. Also I sanded down the entire Sidekick (after taking apart of course). After the base coat and middle coat are applied, I used about 10 coats of top coat or clear coat. Only time will see if it will be as durable as the stock finish but so far so good. I use the Sidekick all the time and it never leaves my hands. Also to, I sanded down the "flip groove" thing in the bazel around the screen. I never used it anyhow. After sanding it down I filled it with duraglass then sanded it smooth for a clean "shaved" look.
I bought the Sidekick used about a month ago and it was pretty beat up looking. Scratches and grooves all over the back of the casing. I sanded it all out and now it looks brand new.

It does blue/purple/maroonish. You can look up how to take it apart if you do a search on it. Its pretty easy.
