bypass privacy code.

ok so im going to buy a sidekick on ebay and eventually use it on t-mobile, but that wont be for about a month, and i want to use the sidekick on cingular till i switch to t-mobile. i can get it on ebay unlocked for like 400 dollars. but then i found this code, im not very clear about it though.. please inform me about what it does ( oh and i know i cant use internet on cingular, only call and text)




HOW YOU CAN UNLOCK TO BYPASS THE 3 DIGIT PASSWORD LOCK

Go Privacy Lock. (you can assign a privacy code for access to your device: from the jump screen,
select Settings, then Key Guard & Security and scroll down to Privacy Lock.)

Then press menu + jump, to go to emergency call.

Then, hold jump button + shift + s

Then you should see Traces messages appeared on your screen.

Then just press back button.

I'm sorry to say, but Sidekicks cannot be "unlocked". They do however have an option to search for available networks, and use one of them to place phone calls. This is useful if you are in an area that Tmobile is not available, for example. Your cingular sim card will not work in the device, trust me, I've tried. I've been using a sidekick for 3 years now, and that tip that you posted about bypassing the privacy code doesn't work either.....I just tried it. Your best bet is to buy an average used sidekick, and just wait to use it until you switch to Tmobile.
