    I have a Samsung X426 cellphone (AT&T) about 3 years old.
I'd like to move the SIMS card to a newer phone that will work with my
    current AT&T service.

What kind of SIMS card do I have?
What phones will work with my SIMS card and where can I get them?
I'm looking for a phone that has a camera (important) and a PDA (not
    so important).

    Thanks.

No problem. About anything but iPhone will work.

the old att contracts are being migrated to the new att(cingular). In time
you will be mandated to make the change. I would expect that you are paying
extra right now for not moving. If you plan on using media net (cellular
internet) it would be worth it for you to make the change. Why not just get
with the times and upgrade the phone/contract/sim all at the same time?
cost is a little higher but more features and better quality make it worth
    it!

Probably the opposite- AT&T had some pretty decent promotional plans
which are now "grandfathered." My cousin still has his $99 unlimited
AT&T GSM Charter plan that he says "Cingular will have to rip the phone
out of my cold dead hands" before he gives it up.

Again, unless he already has a better grandfathered plan.

Because dropping a good grandfathered plan means never getting it back!

Perhaps, perhaps not. Like with my cousin's, some plans are not be to
    switched lightly!
