I've just got a Nokia 7610 (moved from a SE T610) and one of the
things that's annoying me is that I can't tell how long a call has
been taking place. I've worked out how to make it tell me at the end
of a call how long it was, but during the call I cannot tell how long
I have been on the phone. This is particularly handy when having been
on hold I can tell how long I have been on hold (I'm guessing I have
currently been waiting 25 mintues from an Orange CS rep to answer my
    call but I can't tell).

Is there a way to do this? Any 3rd party software I can load to do
this? I've tried searching on Google, but no luck.

I'm beginning to wonder if I should have gone for a SE K700 instead -
not too late to change my mind, luckily. I'm not liking the last calls
list - the SE showed outgoing and incoming calls in one list, which
was handy. Now I can't look at them at the same time... but most
annoyingly I can't seem to set a default number for someone, it seems
to revert to their home number when they have more than one number...
maddening! Can this be set to a different number on a per-user basis?

Thanks for any help you can offer - I want to like this phone, but
    there's just some niggling problems!

    David.

on my 6600 the setting for call duration during a call is in 'log' in
the main menu, have you tried looking at the settings in there?

on the 6600 in contacts, you can set a default mobile, email address,
home number etc for a contact.

Hurrah! It's there on a 7610 as well. Oddly you can only get at it
from the log application, not just by pressing the green call button
from standby. The other nice thing there is that the log (as launched
from the app, not the green button) is that is shows incoming and
outgoing calls in one list. I wish it would do this when I hit the
    green button. Oh well.

So you can. You have to open the contact first, then assign a default
number. Makes sense now. I was trying to do it right form the listing
of names (you do it this way on the T610).

    Thanks for the pointers!

    David.

One other thing that you might know - how can I call someone and hide my
number. On my SE phone there was a context menu which was "call and hide
number" but I can't find anything like that on the 7610. I know I can
manually dial the number with #31# before it, but this is a pain!

this may be a network feature but its worth a try. on my 6600 in
settings > call settings, there is an option for 'send my caller id'
and in this is set by network, yes, no. You could try changing this,
    you never know!
